Same Old...

As the deadline for the culminating activity draws near, we continue to work on our projects. Everything is really coming together. However, there are still quite a few bugs left for us to fix.

Sub of the Studio

Today we worked on our projects, though today we had a substitute. It was Friday, so we had Studio 218.

Same Thing Today

This whole week we've been working on our culminating projects, and today was no different. We are all making very steady progress. However, Mr. Arkin isn't feeling very well so will not be coming to school tomorrow.

Chart the Flow

Today in class we worked on our projects. It was saddening how slow we were, because we spent the entire period working on the new flow chart. Maybe that's because Carol and I weren't very agreeing hahaha. Oh well, we have finished the formal proposal and about a quarter of the program itself. I have started working on the advertisement for our App.

Vocab List

Today we spent the whole period working on out major projects. I started the vocabulary list of three difficulty levels, while Andres and Carol worked on finishing the formal proposal.

PDF

Today Mr. Arkin told us how to fix the problems we've been having with changing our Mosaic pages into PDF files. I successfully changed my project into a PDF file, posted it onto Dropbox public folder, copied the link, and sent it to Mr. Arkin using Wikispaces. Now I am focusing on the major project.
My exams start on January 20 something. I'm starting to panic a bit, but not to worry. I still have lots of time to study well, and if I manage the time correctly, I will successfully prepare for my exams.

Culminating...MAJOR

Now that we've finished our mosaics, its time to work on our major projects. With my group of Andres and Carol, we plan to create a game called Word Scrambler, where the program takes random words from its vocabulary, scrambles the order of the words, then displays it. The user has to guess the actual word. This will be both challenging and fun for me, and I'll enjoy creating a game.

Last Day for Mosaics

Today we spent most of the period working on our Mosaics. During the first five minutes of class, though, Mr. Arkin told us about good writing. he then told us to edit our own work before coming to him.
Tomorrow is the science electricity unit test. I'd better study hard! I have to get to school by 7 tomorrow for badminton try-outs. I am currently improving my Mosaic project. How do professional article designs look like?

Mosaic

Yesterday it took me a long time to complete most of my Mosaic project. I finished all the writing and the HTML, but I still need to improve my CSS. More work, of course, is needed...

The New Year: First Day Back

Today I woke up at 7 to get ready to go back to school! The first school day of 2011 started off drowsy and sleepy as I stumbled to my locker. What a change from sleeping in during the break!
In class, Mr. Arkin assigned the two culminating activities for ICS. We began the smaller project today. We are to select a topic, write a professional, high-quality page about it, then print and laminate it at Staples. I chose to write about spyware, under the topic of security and malware. Right now I am researching and planning  the design of my page and the contents.
Exams are starting in just 3 weeks, so I'd better begin reviewing everything we did this semester! My head is complaining from the sudden change of tempo, from the smooth, slow beat of the break to the bouncy, spontaneous rhythm of grade 9 pre-IB!

The Holidays

My apologies for not posting on the last school day of 2010. Everything was happening really fast! I got home started on my homework, and got ready to go to my cousin's house. There, me and my cuz celebrated the start of winter break by playing video games and just fooling around. We then had a great meal with our families.
Over the holidays, my family and I went everywhere, far and wide, to visit families, reunite with old friends, meet new friends, and just enjoy the holidays. We went to over 10 of our family friends' houses in the first week alone! I got to spend time with my old friends from my junior high, too! The holidays were great for me. I got to relax and enjoy not being in school for 2 weeks!
